The ICE-SAR helicopter rescue group was established in 2007 to assist the Icelandic Coast Guard rescue helicopter crews in difficult mountain rescue missions. The group comprises entirely of volunteers which have many years of experience doing rescues under difficult conditions in the mountains of Iceland. Members of the group are highly trained in mountain rescue and first aid. In recent years the group has proven to be a valuable asset for the  rescue teams in Iceland. The presentation will cover the function of the group, its training and missions.
