In this workshop, participants will receive a practical introduction to taping techniques for common problems that can arise while hiking. Particular emphasis will be placed on the knees and ankles, including how taping can support joints, improve stability while walking, and reduce discomfort related to strain and minor injuries.

The workshop will cover the basic principles of taping, different taping techniques for the knees and ankles, and participants will have the opportunity to practise the techniques during a hands-on session. The workshop is suitable both for those who want to be better prepared for hiking and for those who work with hiking groups.

Workshop Objectives

  • Introduce the basic principles of taping, the main types of tape, and their uses.
  • Review key taping techniques for the knees and ankles, with an emphasis on hiking and outdoor activities.
  • Improve understanding of when and how taping can be useful during hiking and outdoor activities.
  • Build participants’ confidence in using tape to manage common overuse symptoms and minor injuries.

Participants must be registered for the Björgun conference in order to attend this workshop.
