Halldór Kristinsson is a captain on the all weather lifeboat Björg on Snæfellsnes. His daily work is being a captain and fishing manager.r skipstjóri á björgunarskipinu Björg í Rifi á Snæfellsnesi. Halldor is a member of the SAR unit Lifsbjorg. He has been a crew member of the life boat for over 10 years.
In his presentation, Halldór will share the experience gained from operating the new Björg in Breiðafjörður since the vessel was delivered in October 2024. Over the past two years, Björg has undertaken a variety of missions that have tested almost every aspect of maritime search and rescue operations. He will also discuss the volunteers’ experiences and the conditions on board the vessel.
