Kyle has been a member of the Chattanooga Hamilton County Rescue Service in Chattanooga, TN for 10 years. He has participated in numerous cave rescues around the Southeastern United States. He also serves as an instructor and the Southeastern Region chair for the National Cave Rescue Commission (NCRC). He has been an instructor with NCRC for four years. In addition, he is both the Region Chair and Region Directory for the Appalachian region of the Mountain Rescue Association (MRA). He also has two cats, named Rick and Morty.

A caver experiences a rock fall event on a ledge 40m in the air and must be rescued. We walk through this rescue from dispatch to demobilization. In addition to telling the story of the rescue, we also talk about the challenges of cave rescue from communications to resource management, to is a broomstick an appropriate traction splint? We also take a few side paths and discuss some other notable rescues in and around the Chattanooga area.
