This overview program was designed because many departments only know one or two types of horizontal rescue systems (English or Norwegian) and lack knowledge of the other types of systems that are in most cases easier to set up, require less personnel and in most cases are safer.  The ultimate purpose of this program is to make the students knowledgeable of other systems and enhance their critical thinking skills and rapid decision making capabilities.
