SAR teams exposed to traumatic events can develop greater resilience by adopting the nine characteristics of highly reliable teams, according to new research by Dr. Sarah Seiler and Dr. Scott Hammond. This workshop will demonstrate how to take preventative measures to build trust and support communities so that when SAR teams face traumatic events, they have a shared support system. Most SAR teams rightfully use critical incident debriefs and counseling after stress-inducing events; this workshop shows how to put a proactive, stress-injury-prevention culture in place.

This interactive workshop  includes an assessment instrument, access to interactive videos, and is based on Hammond’s acclaimed book, Highly Reliable Teams: When Failure is NOT an Option.
