Accidental hypothermia remains a frequent complication involving in nearly 40% of severe injuried people with 40% of mortality under 34°. The mechanisms used by the body to fight against heat loss in injured people have a significant energy cost for the body and constitute wasted energy. In order to improve these poor results it seems essential to reconsider both our methods and our means of warming in order to give the prevention of hypothermia as important a place as the control of hemodynamics and ACSOS.The effectiveness of passive warming solutions mainly used in the world of rescue such as survival blankets does not meet the challenge of preventing hypothermia.Only active heating solutions like those used in hospitals can provide the necessary heat and save the body's precious calories.the aim of this presentation is to provide feedback after a year of use of the Therm-Up active warming system in a medical french mountain rescue team to prevent accidental hypothermia.
