From the beginning, ICE-SAR and its predecessors have operated rescue vessels. ICE-SAR currently operates 13 larger rescue vessels in collaboration with local entities. In 2016-2017, a decision was made to look into renewing these vessels, as the need to do so had become somewhat urgent at this point. We will review the process from that point until the delivery of the first new vessel this autumn.

We will attempt to analyse the results achieved, plans for further renewal, and what can be learned from the first phase of rescue vessel renewal.
