The need for reality in training scenarios - The training we all do for Search and Rescue activities sets our muscle memory for how we will respond in an actual emergency. It is critically important that the training we do reflect the actual situations that rescuers will encounter. Whether introducing realistic wounds and scenarios into medical training, or using live subjects in technical rescue, injecting realism into trainings better prepares rescuers for "real world" situations.
This presentation will discuss why realism in training is important, when it is most appropriate to use realistic scenarios, and how to setup realistic trainings.
