Jón Haukur is a geotechnical engineer with engineering firm Efla, and has from the first eruption in Fagradalsf mountain, been a key factor in the design and control of building infrastructure to ensure access for first responders to the area. Jón Haukur has been a member of the rescue team in Kopavour close to four decades, and there gained experience proving vital in his work at the eruption sites.
