Communication is vital for any rescue mission. TETRA is used by all emergency services in Iceland and therefor covers most of the highlands with the difficulties that comes with running transmitters in remote areas.  

The lecture will start with a short overview of the TETRA system in Iceland and then we look at the present developments, such as new power sources. Then we will look ahead at future plans for the communication for the emergency services.
