In 2015, Einar acquired teaching qualifications in the dbs Productions course on the behavior of lost people. Since then, he has overseen the registration of data on the behavior of lost people in Iceland. Einar has completed studies in elementary school pedagogy (B.Ed.) at the University of Iceland and works as an elementary school teacher.
For many years, data on the behavior of lost people based on the ISRID database has been used for reference with regard to search and rescue operations in Iceland. Data has been collected in recent years, but unevenly over time. First findings from this data collection at Björgun were presented in 2010. More search and rescue operations have taken place since then and the principal findings, work processes in data collection and expectations of future developments in this regard will be viewed.
