A major search for a young man was conducted in the Reykjavík area in March 2017, involving both the police and SAR teams. About a year later, human remains were discovered by a fishing boat in Faxaflói Bay. An extensive search was conducted in the area and more body parts were subsequently found. The crew of the coast guard vessel Týr and divers from the Icelandic Coast Guard and the National Commissioner of the Icelandic Police were among those who took part in the search. The search methods and equipment used in this operation will be reviewed.
