For many years, data on the behavior of lost people based on the ISRID database has been used for reference with regard to search and rescue operations in Iceland. Data has been collected in recent years, but unevenly over time. First findings from this data collection at Björgun were presented in 2010. More search and rescue operations have taken place since then and the principal findings, work processes in data collection and expectations of future developments in this regard will be viewed.
Einar has worked with the Scouts’ rescue unit in Kópavogur (Hjálparsveit skáta í Kópavogi, HSSK) since 2005.
